Abstract

The term hip dysplasia includes a number of anatomical changes in which the
ratio of the femoral head and the acetabulum is disturbed, the hip joint develops abnormally, which
in turn leads to the development of its instability. In developed countries, the frequency of DTBS is
4-6 cases per 1000 live births. hip dysplasia is usually diagnosed in the first months of a child's life
with the help of screening examinations by an orthopedist and random X-ray examinations. It is
generally accepted that various diverting splints and devices are used for children with hip dysplasia
under the age of 6 months. For children over the age of 6 months, a closed reduction of the femoral
head into the IV is used with the imposition of plaster bandages. Some specialists apply preliminary
traction before closed reduction. The study of patients' case histories shows that the use of pretraction
reduces the incidence of aseptic necrosis of the femoral head, which develops after closed reduction,
and also reduces the need for open reduction of the femoral head. However, the data of some authors
do not confirm these indicators.
