WHY DATA ON QUALITY OF SECONDARY EDUCATION MATTERS: IN THE CASE OF UZBEKISTAN
Abstract
In all nations, secondary education is widely recognized as a tool for stable
nation building and social unity. Thus, the article aims to highlight the importance of
accurate and reliable data on quality of education in the upper-secondary schools in
Uzbekistan to bring long-term economic growth and enhance well-being of citizens of
the nation. Therefore, I will focus on well-planned and sufficiently resourced projects
implemented by Uzbek authority to create an environment where school students can
achieve knowledge and skills which enable them participate actively in economic and
social life. However, lack of consistent and regular data on education accomplishments
doesn't allow the government to make appropriate link between well-financed projects
and learning outcomes. Moreover, current education system will be compared with the
system in the past to give more detailed overview about the learning stages to a reader.
Besides that, several methods of evaluating quality of schooling are reviewed.
